Australasian Gaming Expo: Forming relationships

Did you catch us at the Australasian Gaming Expo? JRM Hospitality was lucky enough to be an exhibiting business at AGE 2018, held in the newly renovated International Convention Centre, Darling Harbour. Exhibiting our services in a fun, informal setting allowed us to meet plenty of new faces and learn about up and coming technology in the hospitality and gaming industries. This networking resulted in the establishment of working relationships with those we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to meet if it weren’t for our presence at the expo. Relationships were formed with the event coordinators, the custom stand company who helped construct our booth (Grand Stand Events), exhibiting companies from all over the nation and the 7,000 visitors who walked through the doors with an interest in the food, beverage and gaming industries. It’s safe to say that through word of mouth, people learnt about the ‘JRM Hospitality’ name – even if it was just for being the booth to try winning a bottle of Dom Perignon at! These relationships were the driving force behind forming a powerful brand presence that exposed JRM’s services to all attendees at the expo. Merchandise was a strong source of brand awareness, with complete exposure of our logo on bottle openers and stubbies, complemented by a JRM backpack to hold all these goodies in. Watching visitors proudly walk around with our logo on their back allowed other visitors to notice our small booth as they walked past, where, through brand awareness, they were already invested into learning more about JRM as a company. Having a brand that people are aware of results in familiarity. Familiarity breeds trust. A sense of familiarity with the JRM name then allowed visitors to want to continue a relationship with us. The attendee’s preferred method of instantly “following our socials” showcasing the current technological era: virtual relationships are the most convenient way to stay in touch. Pressing a ‘follow’ button – what a simple way to continue building relationships. It’s not cheap to be present at large expos, however, having the platform to showcase our expertise, the quality staff on our books at JRM and our strive for excellence makes it all worth the while.
