JRM Spotlight: Nathan and the Art of Hospitality

This month we sat down with the extraordinary Nathan, a true maestro of both art and hospitality. Read on to find out more about Nathan, Ninja Turtles and the Pyramids of Giza! What inspired you to get into hospitality? I didn’t know I loved hospitality until I started. I began at the cinemas – and moved on to lots of other styles of hospitality offerings. Hospitality is social, creative, and it is all about making people happy, and facilitating great experiences. What do you like to do outside of work? Do you have any interesting hobbies or unique passions? I’m an artist specialising in portraits, creatures and digital. We thought we’d add some details that humble Nathan left out…. Trained at the renowned Enmore Design Centre in Sydney and equipped with a Bachelor’s Degree in Writing from Macquarie University, Nathan’s artistic journey encompasses a diverse range of genres, from captivating dark fantasy to science fiction. But that’s not all. Nathan has also ventured into the realm of literature, having published his first novel and currently working on a thrilling follow-up. As if his artistic accomplishments weren’t enough! You can explore Nathan’s captivating portfolio online at www.nathanruch.art or follow his artistic adventures on Instagram @rook.books. Are there any fun facts you would like to share with the world? Technically speaking, the construction of the Pyramids of Giza is more ancient to Julius Caesar & Cleopatra than Julius Caesar & Cleopatra are to us. “Julius Caesar defeated Ptolemy XII on March 27, 47 BC.” “All three of Giza’s famed pyramids and their elaborate burial complexes were built during a frenetic period of construction, from roughly 2550 to 2490 B.C.” What’s your favourite recipe or dish?  My boring answer is that there are too many to pick. Practically anything with truffle? Who (dead or alive, real or fictional) would you most like to have dinner with?  The Ninja Turtles.
